Job Description

Technology Services Manager

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages, plans, organizes, schedules, prioritizes, assigns and reviews the work of assigned Instructional Technology PC/Network Specialist.


Manage and monitor the workflow of the Technology Services area to achieve optimum support for technology use by staff and students Trains staff and ensures application of current performance, policy and processing standards.
Manage the installation of new hardware and software, the redistribution of hardware, and the support of existing hardware and software for district owned technology.
Evaluate needs and plan the budget for replacement and addition of desktop and other equipment in coordination with the Director.
Conducts analysis and provides input into instructional technology strategic planning.
Plans, organizes and serves as project manager on large/complex instructional technology projects.
Evaluates emerging technologies and identifies hardware, software, and other resources necessary to accomplish district tasks within budgetary constraints.
Assist with establishing department standards and policies; implements and recommends actions to improve work flow, simplify operational and reporting procedures and improve performance standards.
Coordinates department activities with vendors, users and other district departments.
Writes status reports, including conclusions and operational recommendations.
Coordinate testing activities for appropriate systems with other departments/vendors, as required.
Assist with training and development goals, with budget considerations in mind, and write and conduct performance reviews of team members in conjunction with the Director in order to ensure continued growth and sustained performance.
Gain the ability to fill in, when necessary, for absent staff in all areas of Technology Services
Supervise full-time personnel for the Technology Services area in conjunction with the Director.
Minimum requirements:

BS in Computer Information Systems or Related degree.

5 years experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration including configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting group policies.

Minimum three (3) years' experience configuring and supporting IP based Ethernet including wired and wireless networks, implementing and configuring switches, routers, ACL's, IPS/? IDS systems, Firewalls, DHCP, DNS, etc.

Strong knowledge of WAN/ LAN and network topologies.
Experience with Enterprise Backup Solutions.
Knowledge of current computer hardware, software and emerging technologies.
Skill in managing technical projects.

Excellent technology, oral and written communications skills.
Ability to lift items of approximately 25 pounds throughout the workday. .
Meet state and local requirements concerning fingerprints and criminal background check.

PREFERRED requirements:

Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

Network+ Certification

Cisco Certified Network Associate

Salary Range- $53,874-$77,084 / 230 day work schedule/ subject to work schedule adjustment days
