Summary Job Description:
The instructor will provide theory and practical instruction to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to progress into a postsecondary Health Science program or become employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The instructor must be able to select current curriculum and instructional materials, facilitate recruitment of students, and foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings. Daily responsibilities include conducting instruction, assigning grades, maintaining accurate records, managing equipment and supply inventory, and effective classroom management. Additional responsibilities include supervision of the student organization HOSA and continuing professional development.
Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of an Associates degree in nursing. Bachelors degree preferred.
Must have current nursing licensure in the State of Georgia.
Must have two years work experience within the last seven years in the area of patient care or teaching Healthcare Science.
Must be willing to obtain a clear renewable teaching certificate within three years.
Must possess current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Instructor certification for CPR and First Aid preferred.
Must possess basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.
CNA Train the Trainer certification preferred.
